Shimano SPD to Look Keo pedal seat height question?

Hi Guys. I have been using Shimano SPD mountain bike pedals and shoes on my roadie. Today Mr Wiggle sent me a new pair of Northwave shoes and some Look Keo pedals. The difference in the pedal spindle centreline to the base of the shoe is about 5mm more with the new shoes and pedals. Am I correct in assuming that I need to raise my seatpost by 5mm to compensate?

if those measurements are correct, then theoretically 5mm raise is right. But try it incrementally perhaps, and don't forget to consider fore and aft positioning of the cleat on the shoe sole. Further back = slightly less saddle height, etc

Thanks Rusty. Whacked the seatpost up 5mm and went for a short 25km spin after work today. Seemed right. I set the fore-aft position the same as on my old shoes and pedals that that wasn't really a factor. I've got to get used to flicking the pedal up to click in, I've been spoiled by MTB double sided pedals...

As a bonus I've been thinking of dropping the bars a little, raising my arse 5mm relative to the bars have had the same effect.
