Campagnolo 'guy' in Sydney?

Hi,

I'm running a mid-90s Campagnolo Ergo 8-speed groupset and whilst it hardly rates as genuinely old, keeping it up to 100% certainly has its challenges in this 10-speed Shimano world. Now I love my Campag stuff (yes I'm a Campag snob ). You can get most of the major things off the internet still, but sometimes you just want to replace or refresh some small part - or get some maintenance done. The Canberra shops I've dealt with (I'm fairly new to town), wouldn't know an ergo lever if it hit them in the face let alone how to find a 8-speed Ergo shifter spring.

One of the shops which is listed on the Campagnolo website as being some super-duper specialist just shrugged their shoulders (I was on the phone, but you could hear the shoulder movement) and said to look for some guy in Sydney who did Campagnolo 'old stuff' (they didn't know their name they'd just heard of him ). I wonder if he's just talking about the importer, but does anyone know of a shop in Sydney which might fit the bill?

Ultimately I'll go to 10-speed, but the 8-speed has to soldier on for a bit yet.

I'm a Campy 8-speed fan too. I have collected two or three NOS Campy Record Ergo levers, which are lying around for when one breaks, but thankfully, my stuff just keeps on going faultlessly

You should talk to Cycling Projects on (02) 9799-2407. You will be talking to the Australian Campy distributor, and the guy that the bike shops call when looking for discontinued Campy parts. You will get answers to everything.

Peter Bundy gave me this very useful contact. His knowledge is amazing, and he's been really helpful on a couple of my 8-speed restos. His recently re-opened shop is in Riverwood, and his contact is (02) 9534-4818.

If these 2 contacts can't get you what you are after, then I'd say it can't be done.
