mavic cosmic wheels - rotating spokes

Anyone have any tips to stop the spokes rotating on the rear wheel / non drive side. Doesnt take long to straighten them with the nipple moving at the same time so tension isnt changing.

I thought maybe a dab of Contact Adhesive at either end of the spoke?

Thanks
Mike

Thanks for the reply. Have read that thread before. The spokes aren't unwinding from the nipples and wheel remains true. Entire spoke is rotating. Guess I'll just keep having to keep straightening them after each ride. When standing / pushing hard on pedals I can hear a faint metallic noise which is probably the spokes moving. I weigh 77kg for reference

Drop of locktite into the holder around the base of the nipple... might hold it in place, while not affecting the nipple to spoke joint at all.

thanks TLL. Will give that a try before the CA. The hobby grade CA i have might make a mess if if gets anywhere else

Just clean the area really well before applying... a good spray of brake clean etc would work well... put a good drop in each holder then give the wheel a good spin up ... hopefully the centrifugal force will make the locktite settle well in that area, then leave it over night to dry.

Loctite anti-tamper / super-wick-in. My preferred bike loctite. Hi-strength, so be careful for small alloy parts (eg. Bont shoe captive T-nuts).

Thanks guys. Areas were clean where I applied the Loctite (wheels 300k old). I removed the wheel last night and let gravity work , allowing a little time in each position. Good tip tll regarding centrifugal force. Do that next time if it needs reapplying. Head out for a short ride later on in the day in the 40deg heat

Report back if it works

Nipples are often lubed for assembly, so might look clean but won't allow the loctite to stick. Brake cleaner is the Q&D solution.

Good point. Would explain while a little of the loctite wasnt set

It worked anyway. 2 spokes moved rotated <1mm. Every ride at least 5-6 would rotate ~30-90 deg. Added a little CA so i dont think they should budge.

thanks
Mike
