SRAM 10 sp chain rings on shimano crank

Postby warthog1 » Thu May 09, 2013 8:00 pm

Has anyone used sram 10 speed chain rings on their 10 speed shimano crankset?
They seem significantly cheaper so hopefully are an alternative for my ultegra 6600 crankset.
Wondering if they will fit?

Dunno about SRAM but i run BBB chainrings on Shimano Sora/Tiagra compact crankset.

I think they are cheaper than the Shimano ones, i think they are available in more sizes and i think that they look nicer than the standard shimano ones.

As the long as the BCD is the same then yes it will be fine.

The only thing I would check once you've bought them is the spacing between the chainwheels. Even between different versions of Shimano I noticed they changed the the arm spacing between the chainwheels. Recent large Shimano chainwheels appear to have a bit of offset. All I'm saying is to measure before and after, because you may need some spacers to match the old spacing. Then again, I could have imagined it all.
