Shimano Nexus 3 clicking noises

I've just finished rebuilding a cruiser/hybrid bike that has a Nexus 3 speed hub, and on riding it around I've noticed that while pedalling it's clicking in all 3 gears, louder in 2nd than 1st, and louder again in 3rd. The shifting is fine between all the gears, and the sounds it's making either when pedalling or coasting sound good, as though everything is as it ought to be. But the one thread I've been able to find about nexus clicking noises says it should click in 2nd and 3rd, but not 1st.

Does this sound like something to be concerned about?

Nope, it's normal. That's just the hub spinning faster than you pedalling.

My SA hub clicks in 2nd and 3rd gears only, but that's only because our hubs are different.

Thanks, I thought so. Was in at the LBS to get some grips for that bike and asked them as they sell a lot of 3 speeds, and he said that's absolutely fine. Having ridden this bike around a bit i'm keen to build up a commuter with the 7 (or 8 i'm not sure) Nexus hub I have in the shed.
