I broke the rear derailleur on my 2011 Giant Anthem 29'er (marked RD-M773, aka '10 speed XT Shadow'). It seems the M773 is discontinued at most shops; I see the M780 is available and suspect (hope) it is a direct drop in replacement for the 10 speed M773. Can anyone confirm this ? The Anthem has a triple crankset (24x32x42T) and is 10 speed (11-36T).
Thanks, Bernie.

Yep, M780 (or any Shimano MTB 10-sp. derailleur) will drop in fine. Make sure you get a long cage for the triple.
EDIT: You'll probably find that the new XT derailleur is now labelled M781; they changed the mount bracket subtly a year or so ago, hence the new number, but there's still no problem with compatibility.

I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
