It appears that TLL was using the forks!
(I did assist afterwards)

OK - so YOUR guy is fine & there's no issues.
However i'm very cautious (& I think cranky was too) about the moral of this thread being "weld up the old holes on a aluminium bike frame - it can easily be done... see"!
As someone less experienced with a welder & aluminium could really turn things sour on a frame!

Then that would be their responsibility, just as it would be my responsibility if I had followed the advice to use an epoxy filler and it subsequently ruined the powder coating.
