Just a chance to remember the skills that you rarely see exhibited in bike shops these days. What haven't you seen done in a while??

Stretching and shellaking singles to start us off...

1. Recollecting about "the good 'ol days"
2. Watching videos of Phil Anderson winning stages of the TDF
3. Tightening a threadless/'A-head' stem pre-tensioner cap like a quill stem bolt!
4. Explaining what those little rubber tubular noodles in puncture kits are..... :?

LBS #1: Anything to to with threaded headsets or parts to fit steel frame tubing diameters.

LBS #2: Nothing!

Hence why I inhabit #2 more than #1...

Goodness, and they call themselves a bike shop?! What was their excuse?

To give you a hint, their main brands are Colnago, Argon18, Giant, Scott and GT. Not much call for threaded headsets in that lot any more.

It's the difference between "sure, but we'll have to order it in for you" and "sure, we've got two out the back, let me go grab them".
