Touch up paint for steel frame

Postby uad782 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 10:04 am

Hi everyone,

I have a few spots where the paint has worn off my steel frame. I bought some spray paint from supercheap auto but it doesn't work that well.
The areas are small (1-2cm2). Would a steel paint from Bunnings etc. work ok?

Any advice appreciated

For a spot that small try your own, or wife's, husband's, daughter's etc nail polish stash. If no luck it might be time to hit a cosmetics store with a sample you want to match.

I have done this, it works. Just remember to drop some clear coat on afterwards.
Alternatively, stuff like Airfix model paint and a fine brush.

I took a frame into Kmart once and matched it pretty closely with nail polish. Sticks really well
