His wife, Harriet Fell and mate John Allen have been more recently releasing some fascinating Sheldon trivia in the lead up to this anniversary of his passing.

The fact his name is still so well known, even here in Oz, after such time is testament to what he put together.

I didn't become aware of Sheldon until after I had entered the bike industry. Although his disciples have kept the website going, to be honest it hasn't fully kept up with some of the modern developmemts and has a few holes where new stuff is concerned. That said, it is a truly invaluable resource for a lot of the older stuff that we still come across, and will help get many a mechanic, amateur or professional, out of many technical pickles.

Whilst old tech doesn't necessarily sell; there's still a portion of the market that likes re-using and understanding what they have or can accquire for next to nothing vs. what they could throw money at new; assuming they have the money.
I've been watching the odd video on YT lately by R J The Bike Guy whilst his style of delivery maybe a little off putting for some - he espouses a lot of re-use and repurposing of old otherwise upgraded or boring parts and follows in Sheldon's legacy quite well, I think.
