So to ease the boredom, I'd like to see what everyone would come up with if, hypothetically, they were gifted an 80s Reynolds frame like this :
So a Reynolds steel frame, semi-horizontal drops, 68mm shell, BSA threaded, brazed for rear derailleur, downtube shifters (but obviously can fit cable stops).
Build a bike using whatever parts you have in your parts boxes or on existing frames, and post the spec here....

I could quiet literally just do a straight swap from my Hillbrick steel frame10speedsemiracer wrote:So to ease the boredom, I'd like to see what everyone would come up with if, hypothetically, they were gifted an 80s Reynolds frame like this :

Dura-Ace 7801 STi (although I'd have to fit the included downtube boss cable stops obviously), Dura-Ace 7700 Brake Calipers, Custom Ultegra 6700/Mavic Open Pro 32/32H wheels, Ultegra 6700 RD/FD, SRM PM-6 Spider with SRAM S900 Carbon Cranks & Powerglide rings, 3T Ergonova bars attached to a quill stem adapter. Carbon seatpost (even have a spare FSA K-Force post off my R5!), with Specialized Toupe Saddle). About the only thing I might need to add would be a clamp for the FD, which is Braze-On on my Hillbrick, but looks like it's a clamp on the one pictured.
The Hillbrick is my Zwift/Kickr Bike at the moment.

I'm always envious of people that can buy a bare frame and rustle up the parts from their stash to make a whole bike. Must take years of hoarding and knowledge in what to hoard in the first place.

More a case of accidentally getting enough similar components together eventually, unless you go searching deliberately for whatever.

Frame is way to big for me, so I’d have to move it on.
