M775 bleeding help

Postby Donski » Wed May 09, 2018 2:38 pm

Planning on bleeding my brakes this weekend but have a problem, brakes are xt m775 one of the screws on the front brake reservoir cover are stripped so cant open the cover.
Is there a way to bleed without removing the cover ?
The front brake doesn't need it to badly , the rear needs it so was just going to do the front so they were done together
Suggestions please

Rotate the brake lever up so the reservoir is level (which you need to do anyway), and move the shifter out of the way so you can support the brake lever body on a bench top or similar solid surfce. Gently tap a snug-fitting screwdriver into the screw head to try to get some bite. Now here's where supporting the lever body is important. Lean heavily on the screwdriver to ensure it maintains any grip it can get on the screw head, and use pliers or similar to give you some leverage, and very very gradually turn the screwdriver with the pliers, being careful to maintain grip on the screw.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
