Disc Rub After Heavy Braking

Hi All

I upgraded the rotors to the Icetech type on my Giant TCX recently. I centred the pads as per usual and the back rotor isn't rubbing when I spin the wheel, but after heavy braking there is a loud sound for at least 5-10 seconds that I assume is the rotor rubbing against the pads. Has anyone else come across this before?
By the way, I did sand the pads back to remove any glaze and to level them out, but is it normally recommended to replace pads as well when changing rotors?

Happens on mine as well (Shimano Durace Hydraulic). Not sure why but it goes away as quickly as it comes.

Do Not Clean the Rotors on a regular Basis
The Brake Pad Material, is what the BrakePads Key too

I See and Here it all the Time, at the Bikeshops,
when roadies talk cleaning bikes..
Disc Brakes are a Superior System than rim brakes, meaning you Do Not ,
Do Not have to clean the pads or Disc , Between Pad Changes.

If you are worried about Disc Rotors and Pad Thickness,
Get a Pair of Veneer Calipers and Measure the Thickness of pad material,
minus the Backing Plate , and the Thickness of the Rotor, Before swapping Out.

I have Had Rotors longer than 5 years.

Less is more with Disc Brakes,
The More you Clean the Discs, the More you have to Lay fresh Pad material on the Disc
The Faster, you go through your Pads.....laying it on your Rotors
Viscous Circle...

I use Automotive Disc Brake Cleaner, when i clean my Rotors, Not Soap and Water...

Oh and the Sound you here is Because Shimano Icetech Rotors are made from 2 materials, The Steel/Aluminium, have different Ratios of Heat Expansion, probably resulting is Disc Warping as they Cool Down... Proper Steel Rotors For The Win.

'Shitmano' (as you say) must be doing something right...just a couple of bikes around with it, and most people happy. Each to their own I guess.

They are weak aluminium for weight and bend really easy.
My front wheel fell over on carpet before fitting and that put a bend in it before it even saw the bike, took very little finger pressure to bend it back.
The rear got bent when swinging around lubing chain, tapped PVC pipe on wall, bent a mm.

Even though bent back near straight they sometimes start rubbing for a while.

RS505 calipers and levers too, so perhaps they don't spring back as well as newer series?

These Ultegra/Dura-Ace icetech rotors are intended for fragile road bikes so have to be careful. More robustness would be nice though.
