I'm running 48 x 16 at the moment which is giving me great accelleration particularly from a standing start - but I'm running out of top end which is resulting in my bouncing a fair bit when I hit top speed. I want to go taller but in small increments.
I have 144 BCD chanring.
Happy for recommendations as its only my 2nd track season and there is no seasoned "Trackie's" in our club to give advice.

This should cost you $50, 25 a cog to start with. If you doing sprinting then youll need to purchase some chainring which start adding up at between 50 & 200 a ring. Enduros normally run same gear all day ever day.
Warm up on 48x16, race on 48x14. Ul see a huge difference

48 16 is so small! its pretty epic that you raced a whole season on that gear
you probably want to race on a 90 or 92, thats what most people will be using
here is a gear chart to work out what chainrings and cogs you need

What type/distance of events are you competing in,
maybe I can help. Do you have other cogs, or chainwheels.
As the others have stated, here, the 47x14 is a great 90.6
(what I regularly used) and the 50x15 for the 90 dead.
But for you now, I would think this way,
Your 48x15 would give you a good stepping stone (86.4)
and would only mean getting a 15x cog, which will come
in handy later. I would leave getting into 92 till a fair bit later,
and there is always the interim 91.8 (51x15)
With a bit more info, about the type of rider you are, your weight and
your strengths, I could go into more details.
Hope that helps,
