Lidcome Winter Wheelers

Postby scotto » Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:45 am

Winter track racing returns to Wyatt Park Lidcombe for a nine week, “Winter Wheelers”, series commencing on Sunday the 8th May 2011. Being Mothers Day, the first of the Ladies Scratch Races and Handicaps will be run together with a full program for seniors from 4 pm and juniors from 2:30pm. (Gates open at 2pm). Riders will be competing for medals over the nine weeks across all grades.
The racing promises to be exciting with a mixture of traditional scratch and handicaps together with Italian Pursuits and some elimination racing to top off the program. The juniors program will be in full swing with racing for the really little ones on BMX though to three graded divisions for older more experience juniors.

Haven’t ridden a track bike before? Novice events will top off the racing; Lidcombe Auburn Cycling Club has a limited number of track bikes available for trying out. Just bring down your current Cycling Australia licence, shoes, gloves, pedals and an Australian Standard helmet. We will fit you to a bike and take you out for your first few laps together with a chaperone to get you started. (Come early to assist with fitting). Please feel free to bring your own track bike if you have one!

Great Sunday afternoon track racing on the 400 metre flat track at Wyatt Park is on the cards with a BBQ and canteen available to round off the racing. Hope to see you there!

Just bumping this back up the top for those interested. Unfortunately, I can't do Sundays and I so very want to get back onto the track again. Can't wait until RAW at DGV.
