First indoor velodrome in Queensland.
Postby Marto » Sat Feb 13, 2016 1:41 pm
After another track race day cancellation, I thought I would start a thread on the upcoming indoor velodrome for Brisbane. This will be the first indoor velodrome in Queensland.

Have to say we are pretty lucky with the number of indoor velodromes and outdoor tracks available already in Australia. Compared to say the USA where they have now only three indoor tracks - the third after only recently fitting an inflatable tent over the Colorado Springs track.

I haven't had a lot of time on the boards, Northcote velodrome was still concrete when I left Melbourne and the "multi-purpose Venue had not been open long but I was lucky enough to put a few laps on the MPV.Frostee wrote:Foo, boards rock, the feel, the smell, the sound....
Indoor boards are far superior to anything else, like riding with a constant tailwind. It looks like I'll be heading back to Melbourne at the end of track season, and I'm really looking forward to riding there again.
Cheers,
Cameron

Racing at DISC is year round, with Brunswick holding races on Tuesday nights and Northcote on Thursday nights...ironhanglider wrote:It looks like I'll be heading back to Melbourne at the end of track season, and I'm really looking forward to riding there again.
Wood is indeed good! Have now ridden 3 Australian indoor velodromes. DISC here in Vic mostly, but also Dunc Gray in Sydney and Silverdome in Launceston. Still to race in Adelaide or Perth and soon Queensland.
