2016 World Track Titles

Postby foo on patrol » Fri Mar 04, 2016 10:25 am

See the boys got up in the Teams Pursuit. 8) 3min 52.778sec, chit that's moving quick!

The girls, well don't really know what happened there, as they only just scraped into the finals. :?

Check out the lap times Foo. Amazing!
Callum Scotson did a 20 second first lap on a massive gear

It is an Olympic year. Would not use their Worlds form as a guide for the Olympic later this year.

It was only sheer luck, that they weren't eliminated altogether, Dalai. That is just a stupid way to derail their prep. You can still ride a good time and not give away all of their abilities.

Olympic year or not, the yanks are going well and will be hard to beat, unless the Aussie girls get their act together.

I haven't seen the race so can't comment other then again reiterating that for many athletes the Worlds won't be in focus and they could still be in the middle of a big training block.*

*My wife works in one of the Sports Institutes - comment above not specific to the Women's pursuits team but is typical for many athletes.

If I were a betting man, my Olympic prediction is that the US have peaked way too early and will be lucky to get bronze.

The men's team pursuit was a sensational race! Most exciting I've seen in ages. I felt sorry for Ed Clancy, though - even though I loved seeing the young Aussie riders win!

Ive been privileged enough to stand in the middle of the Superdrome and watch both teams train. The girls are more impressive. My money is on both teams at Rio.
