Have done many sessions (AT) nerang velodrome.
Wed nights is motorpaced training. Do the occasional solo training.
Haven't ever ridden anywhere else so have nothing to compare with.
It was never really closed. Recently the council resprayed the surface and filled some of the cracks.
Just not used for racing for some time.

I had many a race day down there and two Six Day Races also. Hows Laney going with his training?

Some riders could never master the bend after the finish line and then you had the hill climb on the back straight.

Love the Nerang track! One of my dearest cycling memories is winning the A Grade 100 lap points race that used to be the final event in the Nerang carnival (when the carnivals used to be all in a row after Christmas). From memory it was 1996.

Last time I rode there, would have been 83. I won a couple of those Point Score races in the Aces (elite now) and rode in two Six Day races, when they were held from Boxing Day to New Years Eve. :)

Just wondering what the process is for using the Nerang track seeing I'll be down the GC for a few days this week with my daughter and our bikes. Just looking at rolling around, recovery for her post Bundy Carnival, and light training for me because i;m lost cause :) :)

Cheers

It's open to the public except when racing is on.
Aus motorists are safe to kill a cyclist at any time & confident that they will be protected from any serious penalties.
