Queensland Masters Track Titles

Postby foo on patrol » Wed Jan 11, 2017 2:57 pm

Well I have just registered for my first State Titles since 1982. :)

I'm not going to figure in anything but using them to get starting points for time for the coming years.

Sprint pursuit and scratch race. I thought about the TT but I'd only make a real fool of myself with the condition that I have. :(

This will give me my starting points on times, for the following few years, for when I hope to have a real serious dig!

All the best! At new velodrome I guess so that will be nice. Enjoy :)

I "raced" the masters nationals one year at the outdoor Chandler velodrome. Remember having a couple of fun sprint rounds with David Short and cruising around in the pursuit so I could get some training in! I was really there supporting someone else.

All the best Foo, should be fun. With the new velodrome I'm guessing there will be a big turnup
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

Thanks Mike and Alex. Yeah it's on the new one and I have to say, I will love to see how fast this gets in another 18mts to 2yrs after it has settled in. I will be happy with being mid field in the placings due to my restricted time to train but over the next few years, I want to be at the pointy end again.

Toowoomba Cycling Club - I used to race for Team TLD but have just started racing in my own DRP Coaching colours. I'm a 193 cm giant so I am hard to miss !

I called into the old Track on Wednesday after my mates funeral. It's a bit sad looking compared to 35ys ago. :(

I also called into Bennett & Page Cycles to catch up with an old Club mate that I hadn't seen since 1981  = Brian Page. Now there is a bloke that could handle a bike and was fast.

Yeah Pagey is a great bloke. The track is a bit rough but fortunately is still okay for training (I wouldn't want to race on it).

So who's going down for them?

I've just about got my bike all cleaned and lubed up but don't know what gearing I'll use for the Sprints and Pursuit runs. :? The Scratch race I've pretty much decided.

Pretty happy with my Qualifying for the Sprint last night. I knocked another two tenths off it from when I raced in the Sprint Series in November, so I'm on my way to getting a sub 13sec for this time next yeah. :D It was 13.54sec (yeah I know, not quick) and for only two days a week riding I'm happy.

Nice one foo. Liked the video of you on Facebook too. Avg speed in the 50's?

It looks like a great track.

I'm intrigued now, Strawburger. You will have to let me know who you are.

I'm aiming to be in the high 12s by the end of the year.

Got the Silver in the Masters7 Sprint. Only two of us left after the others pulled out but we rode under our qualifying times in the run offs. :D I've dropped 1.3sec off my 200mtr time since August and my goal is to be in the mid to high twelves by the the end of the year.

I have the run off for the Bronze in the 2000mtrs Pursuit and the 10000mtr Scratch today. :) Gotta say the legs are a bit sore this morning. Aiming to be doing a 2.30 for this race next year (2.59 yesterday) and confident of doing it.

Thanks SSS Dalai and TAD.

I missed the Bronze by 1.5sec but lowered my time by 7sec from qualifying and that was with very weary legs. I did snag Bronze in the Scratch Race. :o

I'm very happy with how I went over the weekend, because, I was beaten by blokes that can train at least, five days a week and I only get two.
