Elite Nationals At Anna Meares Velodrome

Postby foo on patrol » Sun Feb 05, 2017 8:01 pm

Get off ya arses and get down there. I'm hoping to see sub 10sec 200mtrs in the sprints. :)

If a Masters 4 can do 10.28 at the age of 34yrs, then the real youngins should be able to crack the 10sec barrier.

Wow, just wow! The speed that was on show yesterday, was just mind blowing. The 15klm Elite Mens Scratch Race was just insane. With Cam Myers just lighting it up at every opportunity. They just ripped into each other after one lap and never stopped.

The Womens Points Score, the whole field tried to hem in the QLD girl, because she was the only one from QLD but she gave as good as she got and never flinched.

Some high speed crashes in the sprints but I couldn't understand was...........They kept jamming it up the inside of the rider in front instead of the outside! :?

I didn't see any of it and can't seem to find the results (there's a link on CA's page, but nothing there), but I know some of my clubmates had a pretty good event.

Just found out that, the Master 2 rider that broke the World 200mtrs time, won't have it recognised, because he didn't pay $800 for the drug test. Say What.
Why the hell are we expected to pay that? :x

I believe that of the 10 world records set at MASTERS Nationals in Sydney, only one will be ratified due to the $800 fee which people are unwilling and unable to pay.

On a side note my ladies team of newbie track riders who I have been coaching won Silver in the All-Age Womens Team Pursuit which is a great result, up against hand picked NSW champions and interstate teams. My 4 are all not only from the same state but also from the same club (Illawarra). My lead rider broke 2 fingers before the start when a bike rack fell on her in the warm up but rode bravely as did the other 3. Im very proud of their commitment to training and their trust in me to set the schedule, gearing and race plan.

Defeats the purpose of having records and you have to feel sorry for the cyclists involved. Perhaps CA should consider insurance if the costs of verifying World records is too much for them to bear.
