Hi!
I just built an old school track bike. Is it possible to turn up at the narrabundah velodrome and have a spin or do you need specific licenses/memberships etc.

Hi Col,
The velodrome itself is behind locked gates.
It can be booked for private use.
There are regular users such as Masters ACT, and the CCC however you would need to be a member to join in with those sessions. The gates are also used by the model car club, so if they happened to be open you might be able to get onto the track, however you would still have to climb over the perimeter fence/gate.
The track itself isn't terribly friendly for riding slowly, being built with inappropriately steep banking for the radius of the turns. This means that it isn't a great choice for a shakedown ride of a newly constructed bike when you are identifying and solving creaks, setup issues etc.
All in all it is easier to go out to the track at Queanbeyan.
Cheers,
Cameron
