First TT finished today.
Postby iaintas » Sun Mar 07, 2010 3:33 pm
Well had my first TT in the form of the "mt wellington challenge", managed to get a time of 1h10min48seconds, pretty stoked with that. On the upside i wasn't overtaken after starting 16th, but did a fair bit of overtaking (think about 10 or so people), and was pretty satisfying overtaking people on $8-9k bike with ZIpp 404s etc when i was on my old standard avanit giro with $200 wheels. Im definately looking forward to doing some more racing in the future

Just goes to show, that if you don't have the get up and go in your legs, then those mega dollar bikes do you diddly squat.
Just keep working on your fitness and then, worry about a good bike.

I don't suffer fools easily and so long as you have done your best, you should have no regrets.

I hope you enjoyed it. Its terrible when you get to the end and think "if I'd gone a bit harder there" or "I feel pretty good actually, too damn good."
What was the distance?

21km with approx 1100m climbing, i felt pretty buggered at the top, and hit a wall about 3km out when i really should have been able to push. i feel like a tapered pretty well leading up and had an average HR of 175bpm (i was a bit worried when i kept looking at my HR and seeing 180+).Redbull wrote:I hope you enjoyed it. Great effort - interested to know how the climb profile was too - "Mt Wellington Challenge" sounds sounds a little vertical.
Oh - and BTW - there is nothing wrong with the old standard Avanti Giro
