Time Trial Improvements

Postby r2160 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 6:11 pm

Hi all

Tried my first TT on Sunday at Calga and got a few different opinions of what gives the most improvement (apart from just hard training).

A few things were: tubulars, aero helment, aero bars.

Just wondering difference each of these things make?

cheers

I can't quantify the improvements for the items you list, but in order of improvement I'd say bars first by a significant margin then helmet and tyres last. There is some old information available on the net if you spend a bit of time googling. A deep dish front wheel is fairly high up on the list also I believe, as it is out front in the clean air.

Bars will be biggest improvement by far...or just start with aero clip-ons.

I'd try some aero clothing as well perhaps a skin suit or at least a tight jersey

With Tubies you would need wheels with that so very expensive compared to the other 2/3 options
