Details can be found on the Macarthur Collegians website.
Start time is 1400 hours. I suggest you arrive at no later than 1300 to give yourself time to sign on and warm up.
Good luck to all that enter.

I didn't drive well up the hills last year but had good flat road speed. This year I'll be 5kg lighter so that should help the hills, as long as it hasn't stuffed powerChuck wrote:mikesbytes wrote:Can't remember what time I did last year, but I'd like to shave a minute off it

What sort of effect does the hill have? Are we talking 5km/hr difference or more? I couldn't quite grasp from the profile - it looks as though it climbs steady for 1% over 4kms, then is roughly flat for 9km then head back down for the last 4. is that close to whats out there?mikesbytes wrote:

I didn't log my bottom speed on the hill, think it was something silly slow like 16kph. Average was a measly 36.1kph

Here.
Looking towards hitting the turnaround in sub 16:00 minutes, getting a better time out of the turnaround and up the small hill, and finally a faster speed up the bigger hill.
My goal is to break 29:30 this year, which will be a 45 second reduction on last years time, sub 29:00 would be nicer.

Isn't the first half quicker than than the second half?Kev365428 wrote:Finally got round to finding my stats from last years ride.

Turned the corner in something like 16:30 last year, and finished with 30:13.
I think there was a pretty good tailwind for the return leg.
Yep, more up and down than a lot of people realise.....until they ride it at pace.

Do they sell day licences as I haven't renewed mine and will probably target a half year licence this year?

Hadn't thought of the wind Kev, I just remember blowing up on the hill on the return leg.
Kev, can you change the thread title to this years date

As Mike has stated, clip-ons are fine so long as they still conform to UCI regulations. As Mike has also stated, some minor changes to bike set-up would be desirable, but certainly not necessary. The more aero position is advantagous when the wind is up, and on the downhill sections of the course.
We do have day licenses available on the day at $15. Be sure to arrive early though so this can be sorted out prior to the mad rush fro signing on.
Title changed as suggested.
