I'd say it was undulating. No real killer hills on it, but they present a challange when trying to keep the pace up.

Howdy Hebden
I think I'll be there,
I like the idea of racing against the clock,
Any idea how many laps/km's PPCC race their ITT?

If previous years are anything to go by,
it's possible that B Grade MMAS2-4 may be racing 24.8km,
Seven minute laps to be in the money
Yeah Right..

Heard it from a member...
The PPCC Time Trial is open to all grades.
There is a 20km and and a 40km. Non PPCC members cannot win prize money but are welcome to join.
Zozz, I am definitely in. I just want my D grade legs to get a taste of the race of truth....

a 40km time trial around the Regatta would be the most boring event in the world.
Who does 20km and who does 40km?

I don't think you get a choice?
Your licence category will decide how far you ride

I had a geek at some previous results,
It seems that MMAS2-4 are up against guys like Eddie Salas and some better Avg's are about 40-42kmh????

I am there for the 19th, can’t wait, 20 or 40km don't really mind either way. I don't think Eddie Salas has anything to worry about from me though

The way I understood it...you just rack up there and tell them if you want to have a go at 20 or 40kms....

I braved the cold with Zozza yesterday for my first ever TT. It was the annual ITT for both Penrith and Randwick Cycling clubs and we only had 8 takers for the 40km TT.
I managed an average 87% HRMax which got me 37.3kph avg over the 40kms (1h04m19s). Which put me 6th out of the 8 riders, 1st was 58min something I think. I am reasonably happy with the effort I maintained (though I was aiming for 90%), just wish it equaled a little more speed.
If it’s made one thing clear to me its volume doesn’t bring speed. I think I need more quality in my training, probably more rest too.
Still, it was good fun.

Don
its very possible. A few of the guys out here (MMAS4) that participated in the 2008 masters games rode 41km/hr average for 30km and it was not as flat as Regatta. On a real TT bike it definately is possible, the area around the finnish line and over the bridge will slow things down a little but overall, 20km at least is doable.
I'm going to give the masters games in 2010 a real bash out here, I'd like to do the TT meaning I'm going to haev to work out thresholds and even what darn bike I want to use. Maybe someone will loan me a new 2010 Merida Timewarp ?

Thanks Sandman,
Reckon I coulda gone a bit harder because I didn't feel like I wanted to hurl crossing the finish line and hopefully there is
some room for improvement in the aero and equipment department.
Deffo love this style of racing.
Kevvy,
IIRC, I placed about 10th from about 17 riders in MMAS2-4,
Eddie did it in 25/26 minutes-ish
