Poor person's aero helmet?

Postby marc2131 » Tue Sep 08, 2015 9:03 am

Apart from me, does anyone else use the Limar Velov helmet as an aero TT helmet?

I remember thinking the same when I first saw that helmet. Might get a bit hot though since the covers are designed for wet and cold weather use.

Buy one and let us know!

Yes you'd only be able to use it during the cooler months. Used it for a ITT held at Calga (outside of Sydney) on Sunday. I think it topped 19 degrees or so. No wind. I definitely did not overheat. It is incredibly light too. In a crouched aero position I had no problems seeing straight ahead. Some helmets have a deep overhang on the front forehead, this one doesn't.
I left top panel on, and took off the 2 side (left and right) panels off.
