Perth

I headed to Perth to get a chrissy present from the ABC shop. No told me that it had closed it's CBD shop aes ago!

So, check on locations with the smart phone and then ride al the way over to Garden City. That shop is a mere three or four km's. So what should have been, maybe 8km round trip was a forty km round trip.

Still, the conditions today were beautiful unless you didn't like a bit of wind. And I would have gone for my weekend long ride anyway.

Monday! Dang, where'd the weekend go?? Apart from chores, admin and studying, I at least got a small shopping trip done with the cargo bike.
Poor night's sleep, wasn't quite awake yet when I climbed on the bike at 4am this morning, but that changed for the better a couple of kms in.
New front fender to be fitted today - I bet I won't see wet roads between now and when I head overseas.

This morning the carriage ponies were clip-clopping their way into the city along Elizabeth/Albert Street. No aggro given to them by motorists, even when they are going a heck of a lot slower than a cyclist.

I saw a male cyclist wearing BNV kit as he powered past me on the hill in Albert Street. Anyone here?

Needless MGIF on Elizabeth Street, Melbourne also this morning. The driver decided to overtake me just to turn left into Bourke Street just up ahead. Stupid and dangerous.

And I get to work... Only to find that I forgot some underthings... So back went on the sweaty sports version. Whoops.

At least there are only a few more days until the enforced Christmas/New Year break!

N+1 works for all bike related things Summernight - especially when it comes to clothes (and under clothes) at work for after cycling.
(just don't ask how many pairs of shoes I have under my desk)

It still goes wrong. I keep a stash in my locker at work, and on more than one occasion have forgotten to restock. I've learned the hard way to now only take home after new items are brought in (trousers, towel) or try and keep multiple days in advance (shirts, under stuff).

One more drive commute tomorrow for me, then it's cycle until late January when school goes back.

Commute in was ok, but had to evacuate the building & didn't carry my bike down the fire stairs. Apparently I am soft.

Caught the bus home & will have to use it again tomorrow.

Good commute today. Legs felt very average this morning but still set some personal best times on the major climbs.

Getting closer to being under 100kgs too which is good motivation.

Lovely rides. Feeling a bit tired, but the holidays are in sight! Although not a fan of the dripping sweat caused by these temperatures, made worse by the change-rooms at work having no fan or moving air whatsoever (and being in the basement). Pair the lack of fan with someone having just taken a hot shower in the room and the place is stifling. I can't wait to get out of there each morning.

Not too shabby a day in Melbs either.
My new front fender rattles like crazy at the slightest vibration off the road/path surface. Grrr.

Could not get a frigging GPS signal in the Sydney CBD today when I was beginning my commute home. Was the GPS system busted by any chance?!

Yesterday I had my first commute with Vee Mission 26x4.0 folding knobbies, tyres not seating round in circumference or symmetrical across the profile, so was interesting having the big buzz sound along with visual bobbing up/down and the sideways in/out. Two things in rhythm Like the tyre was patting its head and rubbing its belly in a circle =D

I had no issues getting a gps signal on my edge 800.

The cross wind however as I crossed the Gladesville bridge was a different story.

My garmin was slow to pickup satellites this morning.

Looked at weather site before breakfast this morning and noticed a decent NW wind, a headwind for me. Oh well, set off, somewhat lethargic. When I got down to the lake there was a howling southerly, came from nowhere. At least a southerly is a tailwind for about half the way.

Three headwind rides in a row now, but yesterday afternoon was particularly wild - gusts up to 60km/h.
Met a cyclist on a Surly Big Dummy at the top of Grange Rd, had a brief chat and admired each others bikes.
Hi, if you are on here!

That is a very good question and was exactly what I was thinking as I was standing there dripping sweat all over the place. :D

I missed all the huge winds on the ride home last night due to heading home a bit later. I got a bit of it walking to a seminar and then on the way back to work after the seminar I saw Little Bourke Street closed at Queen because a massive tree branch had come down onto the road.

Another glorious morning this morning! Even with the headwind.
