I had a headwind yesterday afternoon, and dead legs. Before that, I did some intervals for an hour and they were a lot harder than they looked.

Creeping.

Biggest week since March last week plus a couple of late nights. Still, Melbourne weather is on the up so good to be out even completely shagged :-)

Bloody cold again this morning.
1.6c.
Wt? It's nearly november.
At least it wasn't raining.
The ride home tonight was a ripper. Good temp and a fine night to be out on the aldi 29er.
Roadie is still sitting in the rack.

Got a KOM on the mighty Aldi last night
Not exactly a highly travelled one, but hey I'll take what I can get as an ageing never was :)

A beautiful crisp morning this morning.
No cars in the bush. So no dangerously aggressive morons either.
Have I said how bloody good that is yet? :D

Had a day of contrast on my commute yesterday.
Beautiful nice sunny yet cool morning with a light wind. But on the way home was very nasty headwind and sweating like a pig. Almost 30km/h on the way but could only manage just under 25km/h on the way home lol.

6°C, steady rain and someone didn't take any wet weather gear (dressed for the warm, muggy morning). The actual commute was refreshing but it took me about 3 hours to warm up afterwards.

Kb - target of 170k of climbing? Come on
Last night i had nothing. Every one over took me. I now have the weekend to recover and then do it all again - 350kms with 5800m of climbing.

Friday was appalling, massive headwind on the way to work, rain on the way home.

At least I didn't have to commute today.

A nail decided to bury itself in my rear wheel, so much for being extra early to work today. My first roadside tube change, and thanks to the random guy who stopped to help me.

Weather was beautiful, paths were quiet but I just don't understand how regardless of whether I'm going or coming, I always seem to face a headwind!

Lovely day to ride in Melbourne today, little wind and not too hot or cold.

Quiet, cold and fairly slow. Not bad. It's supposed to be warm this afternoon though. :)

My legs are totally dead though - did a very quick ride on Sunday, and the following on Monday:

Hey, even 170k is looking iffy currently. OTOH, the new bike is lots of fun...

Busy morning on the paths this morning but a nice ride.
Coming home was a shocking headwind again, but got caught up by two sons and their dad who kindly allowed me to jump in their group for some shelter after they followed me for a bit, we then picked up a 5th rider which made battling the winds quite pleasent until I had to turn off and battle the winds on my own again.

So I've restarted my commuting after taking some time off to make sure my knee was ok. Day 1. Painful. Not the knee, which was fine. The general lack of fitness however.......

Pinch flatted this morning on the aldi.
Bunny-hop fail and too low a pressure.
The mozzies ate me alive whilst I was changing it.
There is a plague of them here after all that rain.
Like a scene from the African Queen in places.

Got the MTB out this morning. First time I've ridden it in ages. Struggled a bit up over the hill (hop off and push - v.steep), but enjoyed being on the dirt again.

Spotted a guy exiting a car in the abandoned quarry, wondered what he was up to tucked away in the corner. Looked like he may have been getting arts off the car next to where he parked. Then worked out he had a pretty decent camp set up. Tad weird.

I upset the puncture fairies this morning. Pinch flated the spare tube, patched it up then damaged the core valve. Couldn't take a trick so disgustedly took myself to the nearest Tram stop and illegally rode the tram to work. Not the first time I've had trouble out on a ride. No trouble at all in the comfort of home fixing up punctures and small issues but out in the wild its nothing but trouble! No joy this morning that's for sure...

Returning home yesterday had a closer look at the camp (without going closer). Seems the 'tent' was made from sheets of colourbond so it's fairly permanent.

The bush commute is a double edged sword. Its in the bush - good. There are no cars - good. The hill is too steep to ride up - bad. It's not long enough - bad. This morning I did nearly twice the distance in the same time on the roadie, but it wasn't as much fun mixing with traffic, in the drizzle.
