Good to hear you are on the road to recoveryjasonc wrote:lazy riverloop this morning having a chat to a riding buddy then onto the ride to work day breakfast held in the law courts in Brissy.
That's one tactic I suppose. Personally I would go the other direction. Sure it may be anti-social, but you get your office back. Yes I do have my own office, why do you ask ?Lizzy wrote:I temporarily have an office mate which has me on my best behaviour, trying to pick my moment to roll my lower back out without her thinking I'm dying, not leaving dank lycra hanging everywhere etc. She's a super-girly millennial so mostly ignores me when not giving me mild side-eye for dragging a comb through my hair while I sort and stack emails. I've implored her to say something if my gear stinks, so we'll see how that goes ...

Yes, thanks. Still not 100% but significantly better. Friends of mine have struggled with it for a month. Mrs JasonC is on some steroids because it got onto her chest. The weather is making it very easy to commute at the moment. Got a couple of options for tomorrow. Trying to work out which one I want to hurt myself with.find_bruce wrote:Good to hear you are on the road to recovery

#1 was the concrete mixer on the wrong side of the road, driving straight at me,
#2 was the motorbike who MGIF so he could pull into his driveway in 100m,
#3 was the moron who pulled out of his driveway, nearly collecting moron #2. I then did a lap of the bay run, so a break from the motorists. Sure there were plenty of dumb pedestrians, but they are oh so predictable & much less deadly.
Almost into work when #4 in a holden caprice (the 80s are calling & they want their car back) is doing about 20km/h until I pass him, which apparently so stung his tragically low self esteem that he had to suddenly accelerate to keep up with me. 500m later the same pathetic tosser dives up the left hand lane to get in front before slowing down to a crawl.
My only consolation is that is my monthly quota, so should be some peaceful days coming up.

Well they failed this morning. Feet and boots got saturated.__PG__ wrote:My Sidi Diablo Goretex MTB boots arrived yesterday, just in time for this morning's wet commute.
Dry feet and no booties..what a concept.
I wear latex dry-suit seals around my ankles to stop water running in from the top of leg. Looking at my wet inner soles it seems and feeling around the boot it seems that water penetrates around the tongue.
Looks like that if its really coming down, you still need your booties.
I'm also going to try to silicone the cleat holes in the sole, although the SPD design makes this somewhat problematic.
At least my Gore-Tex MTB gloves worked well.
