Should have worded that differently. I grew up in The Dandenongs in Melb...but have lived in Qld for a long time now. How quickly you forget!

Yeah, today was somewhat more rugged than we normally get. Got home soaked, a bit cold, but that's life.

Possible, although in Melbourne we have to place a sign both sides of the road. I thought it was that.

Headwind on the way home was nasty. A Friday afternoon headwind is never appreciated but this was strong and cold which made it worser

Thursday's commute home was terrible. Singing headwinds all the way home. Arrived completely knackered.

Decided to slum it with the miserable buggers on the train this morning to give myself some rest before doing all 4 of Kinglike's ascents tomorrow morning. It may be a bit chilly up there...

Dunno about saturday, but yesterday was like 0, and today was 4 or 5 with showers. Still in shorts, but using the jacket now. And the gloves....they do nothing :lol:

Got my first iteration of the new, longer commute done this morning.

::pauses for riotous applause::

30.4km according to Endomondo, not quite the great leap up from 27ish that it seemed like. Tough going though after a bad night's sleep (turns out major financial decisions and moving house are stressful, who knew ...). Considering how slow I am I'm not sure how often I'll be able to do it and maintain quality of life, but it feels like there's a lot I could be doing with those extra 10 minutes at either end :|

Gotta say that for those of us who hail from the cooler climes, I have nothing but good things to report about Pearl Izumi thermal bib tights. I've been a set a good workout over the last month and a half through some frosty mornings and wintery evenings, and they strike a lovely balance between being warm enough for sub zero mornings, yet breathable enough to not be uncomfortable up to around 10C.

It was cold this morning, maybe that was the reason for my nearly 32km/h average speed to work, or a slight tail wind........

Haven't posted for a while but just started commuting again. Was -4 degrees when I left home and still -4 when I got to work. Refreshing start to the day!

What a week of bike commuting. I just started this new long commute this week riding to work on M5 shoulder. Got punctured on Wednesday and again this morning, between belmore rd and the river rd westly direction, by the same sort of metal shards:https://goo.gl/photos/MQQUYSpmbwnSHPhF6. Today my pump stopped working as well. Fortunately I got picked up by work mates or else I don't know what I would do. I‘m going to try some slime tubes next week and hope for the best.

Just back from the CBD. Rather wet.

Big shout out to ninja commuter who decided to stop under the Racecourse Rd underpass on the CCT to text his mate. In the dark, with no lights, at peak hour :lol:

you see some bone-headed stupidity on shared paths. some people see them as general meeting or recreational areas

Had to call the sag wagon halfway way home tonight. Just had a total loss of energy. Think I'm coming down with something. I've been pretty tired lately.

Second ride to work in the rain this year. I wore my high vis rain jacket instead of my black vest with black long sleeve top.

Had 3 cars pull out on me.....
