The shortest route is 16km each way. I regularly vary that on the way home with different routes up to 20km, and occasionally longer.

I have been using the hill climbing method Nobody told me about. It works much better now. Thanks Nobody. I am still 10 minutes behind my target 1 hr commute time. Guess just have to pump it all the way.
