Route Assistance - Richmond to Rhodes (NSW)

Hey guys,

Great forum you've got here.

I'm after a little assistance sorting out a route for my commute. It's from Richmond to Rhodes (Homebush Bay).
I tried a ride home from work this week and decided that I wouldn't do it again until I could find a route that was a little safer.

Two partial route options I can do thus far:
1. Richmond Road, M7, M4 then...?
2. Windsor Road, cycleway to Cumberland Highway (not sure where this ends, I've simply seen it on the drive to work).

Does anyone have any experience joining either of these up with Olympic Park or Rhodes?

Hi, I dont know that I would recommend richmond road at all, I think that Windsor Road would be a better prospect. Richmond Road has bugger all shoulder to ride on.

Perhaps Windsor Road, M4, Centennial Drive to Rhodes might be a better prospect.

Have you had a look at bikely.com?

+1. Not sure if there's a better way to get to Old Windsor Rd from Richmond, but once there follow something like this http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Ho ... o-M7-start to Homebush Bay and around to Rhodes. A fair bit of it on decent off-road shared cyclepaths, and pleasant riverside scenery. Much better on the psyche than battling the cages and their pollution on M4 shoulder.
