Beating the system - the cycling commuting section
by Orbea » Sat Mar 20, 2010 12:03 pm
Hey guys just took up cycling because driving to uni is a waste of money, petrol, time and cycling is pollution free =D
Got myself a road bike and everything so I was just wondering if there was any rules, ettiquettes etc that I should follow (don't want to frustrate all you pro cyclists out there haha)
Cheers guys.

Hi Well my only suggestion would be to obey the road rules in your state. I reckon that would be a good start and oh skimming through this forum for threads on drafting and lights might help or not on the etiquette question . Finally, try and share with respect. That probably goes a long way. Andrew

+1. Especially to number 3. If in doubt stop. One other thing I've found is to give motorists the opportunity to pass when safety permits. It seems to be appreciated.

Is "the theory of big" taking the whole lane at pinch points etc? Enjoy the view when riding, but dont get too distracted by hot chicks... crash and broken wrist/skinned face = lesson learnt for me...
