Mrs Westab slipped on some coke in the local shopping centre after dinner on Saturday and has fractured her elbow - Managed to get rides in on Monday and Tuesday but today no chance today as I have to take the kids to swimming so it might be a ride tonight if I am lucky. My mum & dad have been great getting kids to or from school - great to have good help. :)

Was going to do my bit for national ride to work day but it's raining. And i'm allergic to rain. :) .

Cyclone warning.

It's cancelled for Darwin now that I'm at work, but still wet and windy.

Ah, it snot that big of a deal really. A front had finished passing through when we drove to work so it was quite still, cool and only slightly raining - great conditions really. But We didn't know what it would be like by the end of the day. It'll probably just be wet and a bit windy. There are road closures around, but not any that I need to worry about. One of them will stop people being able to drive home to some suburbs, but those on their bikes can ride the shared path through the coastal reserve to get home, bypassing the flooded road (this is the usual route to these suburbs from my work). Win for cyclone cyclists!

Max I agree - Pete is the winner.

Still no ride again for me Mrs Westab still sore (they will probably set her arm next week when the swelling goes down) and no one to drop off / pick up from school.

Plenty in the legs and no time to make the most of it. Still there are some more things important than riding.

Thanks guys, yes I am healing well and my roadie was not majorly damaged (front brake broken, have to order a replacement and front wheel out of true, mostly trued now). With any luck I'll be back on the bike for a nice gentle ride next weekend.

Got the bike out at 5.45am to ride to spin class before riding to work today, and realised it felt a little odd. Looked down and noticed the round black thing on the front is broken...only on the bottom...but thats it, gotta buy a new bike...the current one is wrecked.

The round black thing? Wheel?

Jasonc: I'd be fine with that if you were in Sydney :P

Oh I understand now :P

Well if your round black thing is ruined I have a new bike you can buy, it was made by Aldi so it's fantastic. I'll give it to you for whatever your current bike cost plus a small fee to haul it away for you...

Good wife still not functional - seeing orthopedic guy or girl on Wednesday about her elbow. She is hoping that they say start getting it mobile - but lets wait and see it might be another two or three weeks till she is driving and I am back on the bike.

It's funny I do miss riding in the rain.

Very crappy weather predicted in Brissy today. Used it as an excuse to bring in some more food as was running low on supplies.

Little sleep over the weekend + hay fever + tight chest (lungs) + bike computer failure = todays excuse

Edit to point out lack of sleep WAS NOT self inflicted nor fun related :x
