It technically takes me longer to travel by bike to work than it does by car...BUT!!! Normally I'd ride on my exercise bike for about 30mins to an hr or go for a 30 min run before leaving for work and then drive in. Now even though it takes me a but longer to ride in than driving, I am still saving time because my journey in is also my morning exercise. 8)

Best thing about commuting to work is taking an extended lunch break and going for a quick spin around the river on a lovely sunny afternoon. Can't beat that :)

My commute is 13km each way, and it's a 13-20 minute drive, or a 35 minute ride. I've got 2 young kids so finding time on my own to do fast paced exercise is difficult, so riding to work 1-3 times a week only costs me 15 minutes of time with the kids in an afternoon, and none in the morning as they are still asleep when I depart.

Plus my work has a shower/change room when I can lock my bike up too, I'm on a PSP for half the ride and going across traffic not straight into the CBD, so traffic danger is much lower than when I worked in Nedlands.
