I'll be riding.

Nice to the Sydney Marxist Herald encouraging people NOT to ride...

I'll be riding as usual but won't get the free feed. Not leaving home at 0700 to start at 1330.

I've been putting up posters, calling local sponsors for a breakfast etc. here and got absolutely bloody nowhere.

I think I ended up with 3 whole registered users for the UNE - one of 'em was me. Tiny place with low traffic and few impediments to cycling, lots of people with bikes, nobody terribly interested in it. Commuting is apparently only for nutters and the poverty/license impaired. I give up.

I'll be riding, just like I do every day. No free breakfast near where I'm riding though.

Yup - Ride almost everyday, but looking forward to seeing more people out on bikes.

Will be at Hyde Park South for the breakie, 2012 Giant TCR 2 & poverty stricken Cell jersey, the blue one.

Cheers,
JM

I know what you mean, I've put up the posters you gave me and spread the word but most seem happy just riding their normal route at the normal time. What's worse is a few days ago I completely messed up my illiotibial bands so I can't even walk properly, so I'll send my apologies for if I don't make it on my bike tomorrow...

I'm always punctual and wouldn't you know it, they were setting up the breakfast function on the north side of the harbour bridge at 6.45am today....no brekky for me!

damn these early starts at work!

No ride for me today. I was too disorganised to arrange all my clothes etc at work. Not that it would've mattered anyway - I'm on call, which means I have to be able to deal with operational problems straight away. Tough to do if I'm on the bike. :( And... this morning I got called. I'm still sitting in front of the computer at home dealing with this outage. Blah. :(

I made it in and got my free breakfast at work. We had 50 people registered, which seemed pretty good for a workplace of around 1500.

i made it! :D

tested out the bicycle route too, as my previous rides had been super early and id just gone straight down the main road.

im quite suprised my shirt isnt too scrunched from being shoved in my backpack - it actually looks better than when the ironing lady does it!

now at least i can leave my shower stuff at work so i wont have to carry as much tomorrow :D

I think people are just too lazy. I parked yesterday on level 3 of the car park, the exit walkway is on level 2. Yet everyone was waiting for the lift instead of waling 1 level of stairs.

I got out the dually Norco as it is not getting a lot of love atm. It was a great morning here in Toowoomba to ride to work and I hope it stays that way tonight for the trip uphill to home. My commute is 5km each way with a bit of traffic down the main drag into the CBD. It would have been a lot quicker trip if I had taken the roadie but it gets ridden at least 3 times a week so it can wait till tomorrow morning's training ride.

Beautiful morning in Sydney for riding. Plenty of people on their bikes, but it didn't feel unsafe at all.

My favourite thing was my wife coming in with me (her third time) and actually enjoying it! Best comment - "that wasn't hard at all".

Really enjoyed seeing all types (bikes and people) at Hyde park. Thanks to Bakers Delight for the breakkie snacks.

Did the ride to work thing with a workmate - via Rookwood and Prospect Canal Cycleway then on to Eastern Creek.

Work organised a breakfast, and escort vehicle for the last few km's of shonky B-double laden road. About
half the peeps who had signed up for the Ride To Work pulled out at the last minute. So drubie, you're not
alone in poor hit rates with recruiting converts.

Sunshine was brilliant, even if 8 degrees at 6 am wasn't real warm. Was surprised that we passed only
4 other riders over 40 km (2 women, 2 guys). Possibly starting too early for most or maybe it's just
because we were riding away from the CBD and into the back-blocks of Sydney.

Cheers

I’d forgotten about it until my wife asked me last night if I was riding to work on Wed as it was ‘ride to work day’. No breakfast stops on my route, but I felt I should at least support the cause. Glad I did, as it was an excellent ride. Weather in Sydney is very pleasant, warm (ish, bit cold for the first few km), sunny, and light winds. There were lots of bikes on the road, certainly more than usual – plenty of people to chat with along the way. All the excitement must have inspired me, because I did a personal best time as well.

A few more bikes than usual on the PSP this morning. Enough to make me equal my speed record, for some reason I hate sitting behind pack even if they are only going 1-2 kmh slower than my natural morning speed - which is alot quicker than my afternoon speed ;-)

No brekkie for me either, I start at 7am so they all start a bit late for me.
