More off the bike time... more money spent on stupid public transport.

Looks like I need to find more kms again - you are an inspiring machine Mugglechops. Am glad you are commuting at other than 2am - hope it is safer for you than with the trucks that time of the morning.Mugglechops wrote:Back to a normal week and I plan on doing 45kms every day
Kenzo hope the back heals well - and that you get back soon (but not too soon)

Most of the ride home is bike path and I never see any cars. Its just good to be home at night.westab wrote:Am glad you are commuting at other than 2am - hope it is safer for you than with the trucks that time of the morning.

1. Am surprised I am still alive lol
2. Never thought I would do so many k's ever..have never done so many k's before
Its sort of funny when I think about my commuting and what I have achieved/done...this time last year, I was lucky to be doing 60 k's total in a two week period, now I am riding pretty much every day and it feels so natural..dangerous but normal

Not much chance of a fight-back for the morning commute, but there's a little bit of wiggle room to ride the "scenic" routes in the afternoons

I am starting to lament my days not commuting, the days that I have to be elsewhere...rough calculations say that I will miss out on 4000 + k's for the year due to thisTailWind wrote:gretaboy wrote:Seems someone is slowly increasing their distances...good to see...makes everyone work just that little harder hahahaha

Spring is only a few weeks away then into it I will have to be again so that I can reach that 5000km transport kms for the year.

I was worried you were going to get me this week after I didn't ride at all last week.westab wrote:With being off work two days last week (and not riding one) only 25km last week - will not be any extra kms this week as am still only 50% so it is survival mode.

Only 2 days this week as I have an 8hr mtb race on Sunday.

Nope not this week either - just going to wait till spring and then get going again. Soon we will be all out riding again as netball and soccer are near the end.Mugglechops wrote:I was worried you were going to get me this week after I didn't ride at all last week.westab wrote:With being off work two days last week (and not riding one) only 25km last week - will not be any extra kms this week as am still only 50% so it is survival mode.

A few? I know not the meaning of plural. One day is enough (Sunday doesn't count - I was still riding until 02:17 on Sunday morning).jasonc wrote:where's simonn??? he's been holding me at bay - he did a 400km(!!!!) ride yesterday, so maybe he'll be off the bike for a few days which may give me a bit more of a sniff
FWIW, only another 100km .... 360km was ok. The last 20km was the most physically demanding thing I have ever done. I could have fallen asleep on the bike. My one bit of advice for anyone attempting this distance for the first time is put a sleeping bag in your car. The risk a of micro sleep on the way home was too high for my liking, but it was too cold (4-5°) to have a quick kip before driving home.
Awesome now I have done it though! .

Nope - I won't get you this week as Mrs Westab had surgery yesterday so only riding on Monday - Will be dropping kids to school etc and looking after her by working from home as much as possible. She won't be able to drive for at least one week - but is keen to walk the kids when she is fit enough (probably not soon).Mugglechops wrote:Having a week off the bike this week.

I think 7th will be yours - i'm not sure I can catch you when we get back on our bikes.

He's been steadily catching up to my rather static number of kms.
Commuted yesterday for the first time in ages...
Ride home was only around 75 minutes.... but was feeling the slight twinges of cramping!
