2012 ACF Commuting Challenge (AT) Endomondo

Am going to aim to break the 12 k mark next week....I am roughly 400 k's off it at the moment.

will be chuffed with that achievement once I get it...never thought I would ever do so many k's on a bike ....be interesting to see what I can achieve next year if I apply myself a bit better

You are a machine gretaboy - well done where ever you finish. I an about 400 km away from 5000 for the year still hoping to make it. But with tha kms now with the kids it will take a long time to 400km at 15km/h but it will be fun.

JasonC had his original target of (total) kms for year at 7000 or 8000.... he soon blew that away!

7k was my original target...
looks like i can't ride monday (have to do an airport run) and tuesday is my last work day for the year. so p3 is definitely not possible for me. congrats to simonn on p3.

Well I will start with:

1) Congrats to Tailwind for taking first place. Big effort and to ride so consistently over the year is huge. A deserving winner of the challenge

2) Tailwind...I have you in my sights for next year

3) Hit 12 000 commute k's this morning. Am buzzed that I have ridden so much and so far. My Endomondo stats to date are

Total Riding time: 18 days 6 hours and 52 minutes
Total distance: 12635 Kilometres
Calories burned: 597386
Average Speed: 28.79
Total Elevation: 92 316 metres

Have a few more rides yet so figures will change.

Thanks gretaboy, well done on your 12k achieved this morning - given your setbacks this year, it's an inspiring performance!
I finish up my CBD commutes today, and apart from a few utility commutes to shops/family/friends, there won't be much mileage forthcoming from me over the next 10 days.
Will post a final review at the end of next week.

Yep, top stuff Endos!

No more commutes for me as I've been on holidays and in Singapore.. Not back to work until next year.

I wish I could have ridden more but injury and lack of dedication to proper healing removed the possibility from me. I blame STRAVA lol...

Well, no significant rides for me since finishing up work on the 21st of December, bar a couple of round trips to my brother's place. So my final stats for 2012:

- 13 736.5km worth of commutes
- 1 day off bike in Feb due to bee sting near eye resulting in bad swelling
- 1 day off bike in Oct due to being cleaned up by a car - frame snapped, TW luckily only bruised
- 0 days on alternative transport to work

Thanks Endos, it's been good - thanks for the company in the challenge, and thanks for the inspiration!
