Att: Honky Inc owners! I know there's a few of you out there!

Has anyone found a decent rack and pannier combo that works well/avoids the disk brakes etc?
I'm looking to get a rear rack and pannier setup for my daily commuting.

p.s. 2010 model if it makes a diff.

Seeing as no one else wants to play, thought I would pitch in - I don't own a Honky Inc but have been looking for a rack to suit a bike with disc brakes. It's a bit hard to tell from the pics but it seems the Honky Inc has both upper and lower rack mounts & you have the usual difficulty of clearing the caliper.

Some options I have considered are
Tubus Disco. Ok so it's a stupid name, but it looks to be a reasonable design. Only rated for 20 kg though, unlike the 40kg rating of other tubus racks.

Tubus also make an extension part for rear carriers , said to be "suitable for bikes with disc brakes" You would need to be able to bolt it at 3 points so that you don't simply make a hinge joint.


A couple of cheaper alternatives are the Axiom Streamliner Disc DLX and the Axiom Journey Disc. Both are made of alloy though, & while the manufacturer gives them a higher rating (50kg) that the tubus, I am somewhat sceptical. Besides it would clash with the Honky Inc steel is real image

Il padrone is not a fan of the top peak disc rack

Just don't put too much weight on it, or ride over rough roads loaded up

I've got the Topeak babyseat rack... it's got HUGE amounts of clearance (it's actually ridiculous). If the brake cable was a little more clever in placement, they could have used normal racks.

Be VERY CAREFUL about the height of the rack and bag combo. The 2010 model's mounting points are so high that my trunk Drybag struggles to fit under the seat (it has ALWAYS been crushed under the saddle).

I would edit the rack to fit better, but it would be cutting 1cm down, to get almost real extra room and it would compromise the rack (which needs strength to hold my boys in the seat). Maybe I'd feel different if I wasn't hauling kids HEHEH)

Caps are necessary for emphasis.

Ok, another question for Honky owners.
Is the front derailleur:

• Braze-on
• Clip-on 28.6/31.8
• Clip-on 34.9mm

?
