Free all day parking in Carlton North/Brunswick/Parkville?

Hi,

I take my son, who has special needs, to his school in Brunswick in the morning, and then I thought it would be a nice 30 minute ride to my work in Footscray. But that means somewhere to park my car for the day. Basically I need to get on to the Capital City Trail somewhere in the North Carlton/Parkville section, and head South-West on it. Does anybody know of any all day free parking around there?

Outside the Carlton football club on Royal parade there should be free parking still. I used to park there for Uni, but haven't parked there for years. Then it is not too far away from the Capital city trail.
