Temporary halt to commuting...5 weeks Euro summer holiday will do that. :)

Snowing down to sea level and ice all over the road at home 200m above. Needed the snow tyres!

Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a stretch of 15% downhill to start off.

Commiserations, that's a rotten business.

I've been off for most of the week with a sprained ankle (which I earned by prancing about on a yacht so it ain't all bad really).

I've been off the bike for around 3 weeks after being SMIDSYd on the way home one night. Been back on the trainer as of about a week ago, and I'm getting fitted on the replacement bike on Monday, so I'll be back into it. :) It could have been much worse, so I'm very thankful. BTW I was wearing hi viz and 4 flashing lights...

Regards,

SB

My first 3 jobs, spanning 7 years, observed bank holidays. Only one of them was a bank. It came as a shock to the system when I had to work on a bank holiday in my subsequent job.

Got the train home last night so that I wouldn't be late for Daddies Night at Mr 4's kinder. Left my bike here at work. Fingers crossed, arm warmers, helmet and gloves are where I left them slung over the handlebars.

The mild Manflu I have had for a weel has actually turned nasty- crept home early from work yesterday to shake and shiver all night in bed. No sleep, sick gut and stuffed sinuses/headache means I ain't going anywhere other than bed, couch and doctor for certificate

Halter heart monitor hooked up this week. Would have sweated off the contacts. Damn I'm looking forward to riding on Monday, although I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to 'The Martian' on the bus.

Had to take a month off work to stay home and look after the family after the wife had surgery. First day back on the bike today, and a glorious morning it was :)

Had a quick day surgery visit today. The anaesthetist didn't find my request for a recommendation for "something to numb my legs while cycling" funny :(

4000kms out of a rear is lots. I never get 4000kms out of a rear tyre on my roadie. I got close with the last pro4 endurance

Having to work from home today as my son has tonsillitis and the wife had to work (his temp was just over 40 deg C). Still will ride tonight as I have thins that need picking up like pet food and newspaper - and the mothers day present.

Friday will be a day off as well (annual leave) - to attend either the 2 older girls zone cross country or the same sick son's cross country at school (hope he is OK for it) - I might even get to both.
Not fast, no style, but still get there.
