And hay its only the machines up the front having a winge - us back runners have hardened up (maybe only to soft from super soft). I am already 592km ahead of where I was at the end of May last year with a couple of weeks left to go.
Mate hope the ride on Sunday goes well and is very enjoyable for all - wish I could be there to share in it but I did say to a mate I would help him move 3 months ago - I know where I would rather be.

Not likely - I have three great kids who like distance running - and smashing their Dad, the 2 girls also play netball, the boy soccer, they all swim in squads, and do little A's in the summer.AndreB1972 wrote:ha - that's 'cos you're still all in bed when it's cold and rainingwestab wrote: And hay its only the machines up the front having a winge...

Fair cop, sage advice from one that is immensely qualified to give it. I will shutup and get on with it, the wet and cold and wind is nothing to what some amazing people endure.gretaboy wrote:Winge winge...you lot need to harden up...
Enjoy yourself this weekend.

Yeah, we're slacking off - don't have you taunting us from P1 anymore to spur us on...
Hope all's well your side!

TW...I am getting there slowly...life at home isnt easy, really highlights what I have lost in functionality. My energy levels are very low also which results in me being fatigued a lot.TailWind wrote: Hey Stu,

Am trying to get at least two rides a week in, just piddly 53 k rides but got to start back from somewhere I guess. Got out today and pushed out a 62 k ride, weather was just brilliant for riding.
All up ...life is good

Brisbane is awesome for winter commutes, so I think Jason and I have a bit of an advantage there. I come from colder winters, so it's really nice to be able to ride through winter without too much extra layering, but most of my commute is in the dark so that's not so great.Releng wrote: With an average morning temp of about 5 in Hobart, including a 2.4 last week
I grew up in Melbourne, but the winter mornings are colder here than in Melbourne - I get zero at my place.
well from being in the tropics for 15 years theres no way in hell i'm getting up to ride it's way to cold bring on spring and summer

Good to hear mate - come and get me if you can.gretaboy wrote:@westab....be afraid, be very afraid hahahaha....I can see you as a speck in front of me and am now pedaling hard to try and catch you
Mrs Westab gave me her cold so I have had a few days off but am back at it now. So a few extra long commutes home are in order - especially with you chasing - they better be sooner rather than later.

Mate great work - I'm looking to get to 3000 by the end of the month - with 350+ in one week it is not likely.
Am still trying to target 6000km for the end of the year - so with your improvement you will probably get me.
Good to hear that you are out and about - now it is motivating me to give you someone to chase. (I might even loose those extra few kgs that have magically appeared on my gut).
Enjoy your riding everone

You should take a break till the weather clears up. You don't want to get sick now...jasonc wrote:30km/h head/side winds this afternoon. cold

I'm more worried about you Andre. you spend a lot of time in the weather. a nice 3 week break would do you wonders.AndreB1972 wrote:You should take a break till the weather clears up. You don't want to get sick now...jasonc wrote:30km/h head/side winds this afternoon. cold

All you folks from position 8 to 1 should practice what you preach - all in the interest of health and safety.jasonc wrote:I'm more worried about you Andre. you spend a lot of time in the weather. a nice 3 week break would do you wonders.AndreB1972 wrote:You should take a break till the weather clears up. Actually I just can't wait for soccer and netball to finish and little a's to start so that more kms can be added to the commuting list. I may be up to 200km a week then.

Enjoy your time away - one week is good, two would be great, three must be awesome. I know you are already awesome but why not be more so when it is so cold back here.Lizzy wrote:Ha! I'm defrosting up in HK for a week - just to give you a false sense of security
Rode in this morning like usual - but the temp was down to 2 deg. C was really cold. will be getting the warmer gloves out tonight. Also the traffic was so much less as the school holidays are on here - it also seemed more considerate; I hope that its due to people not being so rushed with heavier traffic rather than parents teaching kids the wrong way to drive.
