HELP! Focus Planet concept bar

Postby Biking POD » Tue Jul 15, 2014 6:17 pm

So I have a Focus Planet 2.

It has Concept EX handlebars. They have LEDs in them. Apparently you take the bar end caps out to insert a battery but I'm stuffed if I can work out how to remove the end cap once the Allen screw is removed.

Please help. It's driving me nuts!

Maybe a pic or two?

depends on the type of bar end.. can be expanding metal/rubber, or a 'wedge'.

if it's expanding metal or rubber, they should pull out relatively easily once the screw tension is undone.
if it's a wedge type you need to screw the allen key back in a few turns. tap it in towards the stem to dislodge the wedge, and then the bar end should come out.

either way you should leave the screw in a few turns so they don't fall apart.

I'm sure you've worked it out by now but in case - you don't pull the whole screw out just a little so you can remove the whole assembly.

On another note do your lights turn off with movement. Mine are rubbish. If I go over a bump they flicker or turn off. Unusable. I've complained to focus Australia but they don't seem to care. It's a defect if you ask me and they should recall the bikes. I'm going to lodge a compliant to product safety Australia.
