A commute is where you start at one destination and end at another for a purpose other than training. e.g. to work, to the shops, to your mistresses'/paramour's house.
same rules as last time. I'll make the challenge private in a few weeks. I've restricted entry to Au at the moment but I'll remove that restriction once I make it invite only

It's been a fun three years, but due to a likely amount of away time from home depot next year, I'm going to sit this out. It will also save me continuing to get mad at Endomondo which is becoming slightly irritating lately.
Best of luck to the 2016 Challengers.

Yeah I do that too, but still requires a visit to the site to edit your ride from sport to transport because they won't allow your 'favourite sport' to be the default ride type. Real pain when you leave it even for just a week (I know, first world problems right?) - then they go and change to some new fangled interface.jasonc wrote:ox - i don't run endomondo. i use a garmin which using garmin connect auto-uploads to endomondooxonabike wrote:Westy, I'll vacate my spot in the comp to help ease that log jam.

If someone would be kind enough to remind me at an appropriate time I'll sticky it immediately.

Hoping to hold on to 7th in 2015 which is a damned good result for me. Commuting will end on Thursday for me and I should end up with about 8,350KMs commuting and about 8,500KMs in total.
Good luck everyone.
DS
PS, as the token ex primary school teacher here I really should correct the grammar in this challenge, currently it reads as follows:
A commute is where you start at one destination and end at another for a purpose other than training. e.g. to work, to the shops, to your mistresses house.
Mistresses should be Mistresses' if it is plural (and then you would need houses) and if singular it should be mistress' as it is a possessive noun. For the sake of balance we should also include the male equivalent but there doesn't seem to be one, paramour possibly?

Cool, glad I'm not a teacher any more though but grammar does seem to be an occupational hazard now.jasonc wrote:David - I've made the edit

Thanks Mate it has been fun this year I should finish 12th unless Bruce can find about 150km between here and the 31st. One more solid ride home for me and a couple to the shops and I'll be on the 2 week annual recovery and time with the family.oxonabike wrote:Westy, I'll vacate my spot in the comp to help ease that log jam.

Don't sit out OX it's been great to have you to chase - the manual uploads work OK and it takes about 30 seconds. I'll be happy to be your rabbit again.
Thanks all for the fun this year - I wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Enjoy your time with family and friends.
See you all in the new year.

A quick rule clarification please. I am off to the TDU in a few weeks, the rough plan is to ride out to a viewing spot each day and a circuitous ride back taking in the race roads. This will add up to fair amount of Ks by the end of the week. My estimation is that it fits the rules for a legitimate ride, but I am not sure it feels right. I think I will be having too much of a good time for it to be labelled as a commute. What is the go? I am happy to not count them.
Cheers, and merry Christmas.
Mick

That would be great, although I am not sure that I will be able to keep up, from your commuting stats you have some pretty impressive climbing abilities. I am more of a descender.jasonc wrote:I'm hoping to get in a training ride (or two) for the falls creek challenge if you are interested
I will pm you my mobile number and let you know our ride plans, I think the agenda includes a fair bit of Belgian beer but I do not know the finer details yet.
