I am lucky to hit 20km/h. Could be that my bike really isn't designed for fast commuting.DavidS wrote:I always struggle to keep the average speed up in winter. Wet roads and slower cornering, along with the dark, don't help. Possibly the cold has an effect too. But I have noticed my average speed has dropped and I am trying to get it up to 25KMh which is hard given I am basically a commuter. When I did do a recreational ride I managed to average 28KMh over 100 KMs so I can go faster, commuting does make it hard.
Also missed out on my ride yesterday as home with a really crap cold, this challenge is so competitive missing one day puts you on the back foot very quickly.

I'm sure it is - it contains a banana, red frogs, dried fruit, and some cashews. At least that's what it would have if it was on my bike - yum.find_bruce wrote:That would explain why he just snuck past meDavidS wrote:Hmm, that does look like a fuel tank on your bike though.

Sorry about that. I'm going OS again next week, so you should be able to snatch it back.DavidS wrote:Woohoo, into Bronze position, on the podium, in third.

I have backed it off a bit the last month so you only need to average around 600kms/weekcancan64 wrote:I have moved into 16th spot and topped 2000km.... just need to ride 320km a week more than Jason and the trophy is mine....

I would suggest that unless you went to work in between, that it's not a commute. sorryMugglechops wrote:I did a ride with the guys from work yesterday that was 30kms. I rode 33kms to get there and 39kms to get home.

I know how you feel.... I would have a 20km ride to get to the start of a group ride that was maybe 30km and then head home sometimes another 50km.... thats classed as a ride but those who done the group ride on there way to work claim it as a commute.... and all because they have a job....Mugglechops wrote:I can try though.

If it makes you feel any better, I took the day off yesterday, so all I could manage was a ride to the shops - and it wasn't even a coffee shopMugglechops wrote:I can try though.
