Even though cancan has next week off,,i don't think I'm going to be able to catch him. He's got 301 kms on me. I'm unsure if he's added his kms for this week so far. If he hasn't, I'm well and truly out of the running

rides for the week updated but I still dont think I have a big enough buffer... I was going to do a rain dance for bad weather in Brisbane, but then remembered I am cycling there next week, may have to go riding with Jason to keep him on the shorter route... may end up 400km ahead by Friday. Funny how the year has panned out, first half struggled to get time to do km and then suddenly it was easy to pump out 400km weeks and recently struggled with time again.
Have signed up for next year, it does help push the km up

Will be in for next year. More KMs this year but a lower position. Such is life, we'll see how next year goes.

I am in again for next year. I finish work tomorrow so my 6th place might go for this year.

I will start again from the 23rd of Jan so will be chasing again.

I'm in but with Mrs Westab wanting me to get a second car as we often have teenage kids going in all directions it will be hard to even get 5000kms commuting kms - but at least I'll still ride for fitness & sanity every day.

Maybe the 2nd car should be a tandem or thishttp://goodies.getlivesite.com/trandem_ID_guide

still got some kms to do this week and next - I might yet bump up 2 spots but I doubt it. 7000 would still make a nice number.
Not fast, no style, but still get there.

Wow, in third spot . . . we'll see if that lasts, especially since this is my last week of work for the year.

Can anyone tell me what the Endomondo challenge is? I was thinking of giving it a go next year. My commute these days is 310km per week with about 3650m climbing.

It's a commuting km challenge that lasts 12 months just for this forum. Gives you people to ride against when you need motivation. Consistency wins it. Extended commutes count

So how does it work? Do I need to use Endomondo for it, or do I just report my progress via thread posts?

You need to sign up to endomondo and join the challenge. The way i do it is i upload to Garmin and it auto uploads to starve and endomondo. I then have to change the commutes to "cycling (transport)"

Meanwhile, this years challenge is still on. A number of positions still up for grabs. I have 1 commute day left. The current gap to cancan is 53kms. Unfortunately, he's suggested he has some more commutes to do. So i think he'll win it

That's some seriously solid work brother, well played indeed :D
It might be a stretch but i'm sitting 700 k off you right now and i'll be commuting right to the cut off on Jan 1st seeing as I'm working New Years Eve. To kick it off I do have a possible 100 k commute after work tomorrow having to pick up some eBay stuff in the outer suburbs. Let the chase begin!!!!

Hi one and all,
I have had a strange year, not much opportunity for commuting by bike, although things have settled down a bit for the last couple of months. I have just uploaded my commutes and snuck in front of F&O, sorry maate.
I will put in for next year and while I do not expect to be with the leaders I am hoping to be commuting regularly.
Merry Christmas and have a great New Year.
Mick from Tassie.

My last roll of the dice was last Friday, will get the data uploaded this week and see where I land......

Haven't looked at the leader board, but I might be able to nudge Mugglechops down a spot .......

Egads, maybe I need an excuse to go to work, or find another transport ride.
Still, 700kms is a lot to catch in a week.

I'm only one commute behind you David... given that plus the need for 60km to top 12,000 for the year, I think that I might have to put in an appearance at work this week. :D

I'm not going to push it out much beyond that though. If Strydz is indeed going to get close then there is no sense putting the target way out of reach. (It's like the AFL supporter who wants his team to beat Collingwood in the Grand Final by 1 point - Cause it hurts more...)

Cheers,

Cameron

ps. I've signed up for next year too. I'll see if I can talk Rob at work into joining in. His commute is 62km one way and he is pretty regular.

Just done my last comute of the year. Cancan reckons it's enough to hold onto p1. See what happens

Yeah, didn't think I would keep 3rd given I stopped work before Christmas, although I did think of train and bike to the holiday house which would be a transport ride and would be about 40-50Kms. Not likely at this stage.

Looks like I might be able to hold off Stryder given I'm still just under 400 in front, here's hoping anyway.

Tell Rob it ain't worth it, please, I'll just keep dropping lower at this rate.

As for the AFL comparison, nah, look at my avatar and know that 48 points is pretty damned satisfying, especially after 37 years :D

My cycling is done for the year... Its hard to see the km on the mobile app but I knew I was in 2nd and only just and then yesterday I started packing my bags to fly back to Auckland from Brisbane and I realised I had left my sandals at my sisters place. Having a broken rear spoke I didnt want to cycle anymore but my brother offered me a lift if I could get to his place which happened to be 10km round trip which has given me a 7km lead.... hoping Jason doesnt need to go get milk today or tomorrow
