I just had a look myself and it's visible on their endo profile......

Please ask first though, if it's a legitimate commute then fair play, but at least one ride doesn't fit the pattern of the others

I'm sorry you feel that way Cyclophiliac. I don't think that this challenge is so serious that it is worth getting that upset over, it is not a question of athletic prowess, just a matter of finding time on the bike. My route to work and back could be less than 20km, but I choose to ride 28km for a variety of reasons, and I claim all of that distance. Sometimes I even take the long way which is 45km.

Rides on weekends are not a problem, not everyone works 9-5 on weekdays. I've described some Saturday rides in posts above (ok not that far, but the principle is the same).

A long ride to a friend's house is expressly allowed. Once, years ago, I rode from Monash Uni, to Geelong (95km approx) to visit a rather beautiful friend, and to share some tinned spaghetti on burned toast and tea. After a couple of hours I then rode back. I think that each of those rides would conform with the conditions as described. But I'd have to make sure that I entered them as two separate rides, because otherwise they'd look like one 190km ride that finished at the same place that it started even if there was a break in the middle.
Endomondo Commuter Challenge wrote:ACF BNA Commuter challenge. A commute is where you start at one destination and end at another for a purpose other than training. e.g. to work, to the shops, to your mistresses'/paramour's house.
If Mark Beaumont decided to enter and e.g. just visit his friends around the place, he could start now and be leading in about a week.

Anyhow, I started slowly, got up to 4th but fear that I will be slipping back again. I'm hoping to get in a good winter to give Cardy George and SSS a bit of a run for their money.

Cheers,

Cameron

April I'm off on holiday, but apart from that . . . I just ride like normal in winter. We'll see how we go :D

some Déjà vu at the moment having passed Jason for 2nd spot this morning but I only have tomorrow commuting and then 2 weeks off work to cycle the Tour Aotearoa.
For those interested in tracking my progress, live tracking is here . I am in wave 5 starting (NZ) 9am Monday 26th. To make tracking me easy amongst the 600 riders best to find me in the riders list and select the star which will make me a favourite and puts the placeholder above others... name is Calvin Avison. Tracking is live now as the first 3 waves started last week but my wave wont show in the map until 2 hours before I start..but still in riders list

Lost a day on Friday, yet another flat that made it home but didn't survive the night

Made up a little bit today. Still trying to find the right combination of trails to get home at around the 23km mark, ended up at 28km tonight.

Such a shame.......

Well after a bit of a hiatus, I found myself back in 7th and 1200km behind my target.

Just about getting back on track again so I've managed to leave grgic 6.5km back in the dust.

Curse my rotten luck I have to work from home on Wednesday, which will slow down the pursuit of Cardy George.

Speaking of slow pursuits, the club championships are this weekend must remember to take it slower this week...

Cheers,

Cameron

My commuting is way down as I am currently using my road bike which should be parked waiting for a major service... wheels have well worn past the wear marks so keeping km and climbing to a minimum... should have commuter rebuilt tomorrow but the road bike is just shy of 20,000km so may see how it goes for the next 2 days

Don't be too disheartened, I spent 4 days in Adelaide without a bike, and the days before and after have been shortened by organising duties and nasty headwinds.

Oh and a cactus speed sensors causing the Garmin to drop out, 'shortening' all my trips for who knows how long

1000m?
If you can do it sure
I was going to ask about next weekend. I'm riding down to the GC to watch the comm games road race. That count as a commute?

Why not? I drove to the last Herald Sun Tour, so it must be.

Yeah, it’s like 3 Arthur’s Seats in one

I always understood a commute was where you start at one destination and end at another for a purpose other than training.

The way I have applied it is when my wife is driving somewhere & I am riding because I can, I haven't counted that as a commute. When the car is full & I ride to avoid taking a 2nd car, its a commute.

Not my place to judge. Given f&o is languishing back on page 2, I think most people are going to be happy seeing him out on the bike, struggling up a average 10% grade without worrying about a few ks.

My 2c worth I think that they are both commutes. Personally I wouldn't put in F&O rides in to the boat ramp for the same reason put forward as Bruce but I'm ALSO ok if F&O wants too; it is in accordance with the rules.

Love the idea of riding to the Gold Coast to watch the road race - I wish I had time to join you hmmmmmm - leave after soccer tonight and add 1600kms of commute.

Yep back on track for 5000kms
Not fast, no style, but still get there.

I let you lot decide what is and what isn't, in the meantime I'm heading to Adelaide for a week of non-commuting!

Gee I was third for a split second there.

Won't last as I go on leave after net week and 3 weeks away. Now, is a bicycle tour transport cycling?
