Funny as

However it does represent some of the perception, that been of over doing the purchase of equipment vs their actual ability
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

It appears that this divergance does actually exist, if this thread is indicative of what happens in real life. Why can't we all just support each other to get along?

You are a cheerleader of the anti triatletes riders Dan. You must be such a champion in real life.

Wow  I didn't know there was a triathlon topic on this Forum. I thought they'd have their own Forum that would be so much better and newer than this one and with more Smilies and cooler graphics. I wonder how many proper cyclist would use it?

Not sure about that, but it does appear I have a sense of humour. Carry on.

This might have something to do with it.

Why you don't use aerobars on a group ride:

You would think it unnecessary, but at a certain time of the year our ride captains have to warn a certain type of riders that using aero bars is not allowed on our bunch rides.

The braking fail is funnier than the general-bike-control fail. Crashes are almost never funny, however that one is. Gravel, too. :O

IMO That's also a cautionary tale about half-wheeling someone in a bunch. The guy in front could always veer to the side unexpectedly, if they hit your front wheel when they do it's your fault.

Why he would even touch the front brake with the wheel doing that is beyond me. I kept looking on the ground for the big rock.

Just out of interest, in Noosa there are quite a few men and women who do the morning bunch rides exclusively on their TT/Tri bikes (mind you if I had spent $10,000+ i'd want to get as much use as possible out of it too  ). The thing is, they all have much better handling and bunch riding skills than me, so it's never a problem.

Some triathletes are shocking cyclists, spend mega bucks on kit that they really aren't good enough to ride. But that said, plenty of cyclists (non-triathletes) also meet that description as well.

Live and let live, move along.
