I kept up 29km/h average with some hills and slow sections today over 42.5km. Strava reckons 1432cal gone and gave me a suffer score of 110. I'm getting closer to my power goal - I'm starting to get faster. :)

But I wasn't feeling so strong today - very tired.

My mates either raced or did early rides this morning. I am still shaking off the remnants of the flu, so had a sleep in til 7, then hit the proverbial mindless flat route (Ascot to Scaborough), at speed. lots of riders out, but none passed me :D ...averaged 32kph for 80k and lost around 3 litres of sweat. Last thing I wanted at the end was a coffee, just cold fluids. was very humid in Bris this morning.

Quick 15km ride this morning, was 35 degrees at 8am, but I was getting batty sitting inside.

Set out to have a quick run at a climb that's near my house, but I never really 'attack' because I'm preserving energy for tougher bits further on. PR-ed it, which is unsurprising considering I hadn't yet pushed hard on it. But satisfying nonetheless.

Also had a northerly which suited one of my favorite sprint sections - 500m flat then 300m kicker. Scored a PR which I was stoked on, KOM is in my sights. Which is really cool, because it's quite a competitive segment, and when I first started a few months the KOM time seemed unobtainable.

Tomorrow I am hoping to get 150km and over 3000m up. First time I'll be riding further than 110km-ish, so it will be an interesting test.

Very hot today, did 34km. I was melting. :( 1206 cal gone, 27.1km/h average over the route with some climbs and slow bits. Strava suffer score 101, so I obviously wasn't pushing as hard as yesterday.

If it was a little bit cooler, I might have gone further.

180'ish k's in two days, but sunburnt the back of one hand where I forgot to apply sunscreen. I'm having a holiday over the Christmas period... first time in about 12 years, so much riding is anticipated. Weather allowing, that is...

149km and 2400m up this morning.

Copped out as I was hunting for 150km and 3000m. I got about 100km/2100m in and threw the towel in (so to speak) and decided that my legs didn't want to climb anymore. The last 50km was pretty flats, some undulating stuff and a couple of minor climbs.

Got it done in 6:23 (6:50 inc breaks) and averaged 23.1kmph. If I stuck to the hills it probably would have taken an hour or two longer.

In Adelaide so decided to use my holidays for some long rides. 90 km in 3.5 hours TSS of 233.4 and reminded myself that Willunga Hill is hard work

Another 32.4km today for me - loving the cooler, rainy conditions. 8) I need to make up for the missed ride yesterday so I'll go out again this afternoon and do another 30-40km. 8)

Edit: no further rides today - Mother Nature appears to be a bit cranky this afternoon! Storms and showers.

I'll have to do a 60km ride tomorrow.

Sat 85, Sun 75, Mon 50 (rode past Daniel Meers' place and only got abused by one of his minions)....
Early morning surf today, and big lunch coming up. Intended riding but sore throat flared again yesterday.
Merry Christmas everyone.

5km spin to the shops to get coke, ice cream and iced coffee. The iced coffee was good, but the ride kinda sucked!

I felt pretty good walking around the house beforehand, but riding back (with 6kg of stuff in my backpack) reminded me that I spent 6+ hours on the bike yesteday!

Rode to the post office box and home. Yay - some shiny jockey wheels in the box to brighten my Christmas!

Then had a three+ hour sleep after lunch. Not sure what that was about... Candle burnt at both ends for too long?

I did the same on Sunday. No idea what happened.

Sometimes if I put a big early morning effort in (5am, 80-100km) I might take a nap.

But on Sunday I did a quick 25km ride at 8am, came home, milled about, then just carked it!

Did my first 100km ride today (103.7 to be exact) and I'm very tired. But it's good to have done one of them.

Cheers to Mario on the Bianchi and to guy from LACC who was riding along with me near Parramatta for the friendly company. 8)

Thanks to the guy from LACC mentioning his long ride - that encouraged me to do the 100. :D

Another 110km in the Adelaide Hills with some friends. Bit slower then Monday but a great way to try and get ride of the Christmas eating bulge

107km, 3,024kj. On the TT bike, hammering everywhere - felt good. Position is "evolving" slowly, becoming more aero and I'm still capable of making serious power. I found today I could comfortably place the elbows on the base bar either side of the elbow pads, so another 15mm of spacers were removed, only 5mm left under the stem... but the stem is flipped. All good fun.

Seedy but not as hungover as yesterdays ride. Think I ate something bad last night, was curled up in a ball at 9pm. Like a baby.

Did 45km and 916m up, including the 20% 500m climb that I've been doing lately. It felt really, really tough today - I was hurting - but it felt fast too. Strava confirmed my thoughts - matched my PR.

Pretty keen to see what time I do next Thursday when I'm not under a cloud of alcohol.

I hear you... I was a bit seedy after Christmas eve festivities. Managed 45ks on chrissie day... Wife pushed me out the door ;-) . Once I warmed up I actually felt good... Plus the weather is really mild for this time of year. Nearly bet a kom ffs. Anyway did about 6 to 8 sprint intervals on the way home, nothing too long but enough to make me realize I need to do a few hundred more over the next couple of months!.

But today I felt the fatigue creep in from Sundays race... So I ate like a depressed cow :-( .

Oh well back on track tomorrow.
