for sure
you can weed out the weak/lazy riders if you can get a gap into the wind
but if a rider is as strong a rider as yourself then good luck gapping them
by the looks of the tour de france the change into a crosswind seemed the best place to attack and in the headwinds of ventoux it was hard to break away
